The West Virginia District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration will co-host a free workshop targeted to help small businesses excel at selling products and services abroad.
The workshop will be Aug. 22 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Women’s Business & Training Center, 301-B George St., Beckley.
Others participating in the workshop include Leslie Drake, director of the West Virginia U.S. Export Assistance Center, and Caitlin Ashley from the International Trade division of the West Virginia Development Office.
Leo Lopez, SBA West Virginia District Office lender relations specialist, and William Houck, SBA Office of International Trade regional manager, will discuss export financing options.
Other topics include: how to target overseas markets, freight and logistics, resources for new exporters, and time for questions and answers.
“This is a great opportunity for established small businesses to learn how to target international markets,” said Judy McCauley, SBA West Virginia District director. “Exporting allows small businesses the ability to weather economic downturns, while maintaining global competitiveness and driving job creation.”
