Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital opened a Rejuvenation Center Friday, offering dermatological services, cosmetics and much more.
“It’s basically a combination of a dermatology office and a medical spa,” said Ted Weigel, West Virginia Marketing and Service Excellence manager for BARH.
The Rejuvenation Center provides medically supervised services, health and wellness opportunities, as well as cosmetic and skin care products.
“The building was already there in the ARH Southern West Virginia Clinic,” Weigel said. “We just renovated the space and created a much more cosmetically pleasing and more welcoming environment.”
He said the space definitely feels much more like a spa than a doctor’s office.
Although the looks are deceiving, a doctor is on-site, ready to provide treatments such as Botox, Juvederm, Obagi, microdermabrasion and more.
Dr. Don Clarke, who was recently featured in Thrive magazine, will serve as the clinic doctor.
He has practiced dermatology for over 25 years in southern California, North Carolina and now southern West Virginia.
Weigel said treatments are available for all ages, for both men and women, and the products are offered at competitive prices.
For example, one unit of Botox is $9 at the Rejuvenation Center, whereas at other clinics one unit may cost up to $15.
He said a forehead treatment can take multiple units, so a little savings could go a long way.
Obagi is also offered at the center, which is a pharmaceutical grade skin treatment.
“It makes your skin look better without makeup,” Weigel explained.
Even if a clinical treatment isn’t the option for you, other skin products and mineral makeup products will be available for purchase as well.
Weigel said Beckley ARH is the second ARH location to open a Rejuvenation Center, with the first being in Hazard, Ky.
The BARH Rejuvenation Center will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

DOL puts new black lung rules up for comment
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs has published for public comment a direct final rule and a companion proposed rule adopting updated standards for administering and interpreting digital radiographs for the Federal Black Lung Program.
