FCNB names new officers

Following the December death of Fayette County National Bank President and Chairman of the Board Charles E. Mahan IV, the board met Jan. 9 to new elect officers.

Frederick A. Jesser III was elected chairman of the board; Michael Rahall, president; Denise A. Light, executive vice president and CEO; Louise Rakes, senior vice president-loans and compliance officer.

Jesser, 67, has been a practicing real estate lawyer in Fayetteville for the past 40 years. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for 35 years and has served as general counsel for the bank for 37.

President Rahall is the owner of Ben Franklin Crafts in Fayetteville and has served on the Fayette County National Bank Board of Directors since February 1997.

Executive Vice President and CEO Light started her banking career in January 1986 with FCNB and served the bank most recently as vice president and cashier.

Rakes, senior vice president-loans and compliance officer, has been an active member of the bank staff since March 19, 1984. She most recently served the bank as vice president and compliance officer.

In a joint statement the four new officers pledged the same quality banking and personal service that has been a hallmark of FCNB for the last 112 years.

  • DOL puts new black lung rules up for comment

    The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs has published for public comment a direct final rule and a companion proposed rule adopting updated standards for administering and interpreting digital radiographs for the Federal Black Lung Program.
    The new rules will enable physicians who perform diagnostic testing of miner-claimants to use more modern medical technology to conduct a complete pulmonary evaluation.
