Lewis Automotive adds new services

Lewis Automotive Group has added exhaust and mufflers to its list of available services.

The dealership is offering upgrades and replacements using aluminized pipes with stainless steel mufflers and tips that all carry a lifetime warranty. They use Vogue Performance Custom Exhaust Systems and Flowmaster mufflers and exhaust tips.

Todd Skaggs, fixed operations director at Lewis Automotive Group, said the new setup will allow for a lot of additional custom work.

“Basically, what we are doing is putting a muffler shop inside of Lewis Automotive. We have started a Vogue Performance Center. We have a lot of custom stuff that we do also. We do lift kits, we do any kind of modification, turbo chargers, that kind of thing. We are heavily armed with the equipment to do anything from mild to wild.”

Using the Vogue Performance setup, Lewis Automotive has the power to bend 3-inch, 13-gauge stainless tubing with a portable, self-contained, and fully automatic machine. They can expand pipe, reduce pipe, and create a multitude of specific fittings for a customer’s vehicle. This also allows the shop to make custom dual exhausts, roll cages, headers, side step bars and light bars.

Custom dual exhaust packages start at $189.95, Skaggs said. He added that they also have a body shop at Lewis and all of their modifications and exhaust systems are for any make and model of car.

Skaggs said to stop in and register today for a free custom dual exhaust. The winner will be drawn April 30.

Lewis Automotive is the oldest dealership in Raleigh County. It has been owned and operated by the same family since 1930. The first store was started by Charles S. Lewis Sr. who was later joined by his son, Charles S. Lewis Jr.

In 1987 Charles Jr. passed away and had no son to succeed him so Nancy Pat Lewis, his wife, took over the company. Mrs. Lewis continued the family business, preparing two of her granddaughters, Rachel and Sarah Abrams, to take her place after they finished college.

Both of the women are actively involved in day-to-day business at the multi-franchised company. The original philosophy of Charles S. Lewis Sr. remains the basis of their success, "Be fair, be honest, and everything else will take care of itself.” Their work ethic, combined with a commitment to service after the sale, has given them a firm foothold in a business traditionally dominated by men.
