Greenbrier Valley ready for Mega Business Showcase, Marketplace

— “A desire to educate and prosper the local business community is a dual goal of the Mega Business Showcase and Marketplace,” according to Executive Director Katie Ickes of the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce.

“We are a uniquely unified business community characterized by working for the mutual good —made more evident by the disaster this summer. Come shop, explore and learn what our CommUNITY is all about. The Chamber serves in many ways including public forums, roundtables, trainings and active involvement with task forces and other community outreach.

“In the past, organizations in the county have benefited from the Mega event such as Wellspring of Greenbrier and Penny Pitch”

Over 90 Greenbrier Valley businesses will showcase and market their innovations, services and products to the public Nov. 8 in a fun evening also featuring the food and drink specialties of many of the businesses.

The Mega is sponsored by Gillespie’s Flowers, Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, nTelos, Robert C. Byrd Clinic, the Women’s Business and Training Center and WVNS TV.

Everyone who attends can enter for a chance to win cash and prizes in drawings held each half hour. The event will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the West Virginia Building of the State Fair Event Center.

A great silent auction featuring everything from flights to flowers will be the centerpiece. For more information about the Mega Business Showcase and Marketplace, call the chamber office 304-645-2818.
