Clinic staff 'want to make everyone feel beautiful'

BECKLEY — For beauty on the inside, as well as the outside, look no further than Zen Health Wellness and Beauty Clinic.

Located at 3875 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Zen offers a host of services, including botox injections, massages, hair removal, facials, spider vein removal, scar removal, B-12 injections and much more.

Nurse practitioner Heather McKinney said Zen also offers some services unique to the area, such as a rejuvenation bed, Velashape and Zerona laser contouring machine.

She explained that the rejuvenation bed, which looks like a tanning bed with red bulbs, uses infrared lights to help heal aches and pains.

The Velashape machine is used to temporarily remove cellulite and the Zerona laser contouring machine uses a cold laser to permanently eliminate fat.

McKinney said Zen also offers women’s health services, such as Pap smears and breast exams, as well as physicals, flu shots and TB screenings.

“We try to be very affordable,” McKinney said. “We want to make everyone feel beautiful. We want all women to be able to afford it, not just a select few.”

Diana Wyatt, a massage therapist, is also on staff to offer a variety of massages, including pregnancy massages.

“You need to take care of your inner self as well, and we offer services to make you feel great on the inside and the outside,” McKinney said.

McKinney and manager Sharon Bhavsar, as well as medical assistants Susan Duncan and Jessi Reliford, had all previously worked together at a pain clinic.

“We wanted to be a different kind of clinic,” Bhavsar explained. “We wanted to focus more on wellness and preventative care.”

She said the crew worked for several months to set up the location and they opened for business in August.

“We’re just like family. We used to work together and you won’t find a friendlier staff,” Reliford said.

Business is going well so far, but they hope to continue expanding the clientele.

“We love to have our patients feel like they’re part of the family as well,” Bhavsar added.

Hours of operation are currently from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but Bhavsar said some Saturday hours may be added in the future.
