Celsor named chief operating officer at Raleigh General

BECKLEY — Raleigh General Hospital Chief Nursing Officer Reba Celsor, RNC, MBA, has been named chief operating officer of the Beckley facility.

CEO Allen Peters said he takes great pride and pleasure in announcing Celsor’s promotion.

“Since joining the leadership team in January, Reba has been instrumental in providing additional focus and energy to our ongoing efforts to address the complex issues we face in health care. Her leadership skills and understanding of hospital operations are key strengths to Raleigh General.

“In her new role as COO, I expect Reba will help us further solidify our position as the first and best choice for health care in southern West Virginia.”

Celsor is replacing Jim Bills, who was recently hired as the chief executive officer at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Ky.

Before becoming a part of the Raleigh General family, Celsor served as the chief nursing officer at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Fla. In her role there, she oversaw a variety of clinical and nonclinical areas.

Prior to that, she was the director of Clinical Operations for the American Division of LifePoint Hospitals. In that role, she served as the clinical and quality resource director for 12 acute care hospitals located in Tennessee, Louisiana and Utah. She was also responsible for leading a company-wide Perinatal Improvement Initiative and acting as a Subject Matter Expert resource for all LifePoint facilities offering obstetrical services.

Celsor holds an associate degree in Applied Science of Nursing from the University of Kentucky-Hopkinsville Community College; a Bachelor of Arts, Management and Human Resources from Trevecca Nazarene University; and a Master of Business Administration, Healthcare Management from Colorado Technical University.

A national search for a new chief nursing officer will begin immediately.

Celsor will continue to serve as CNO until her replacement is named.

    The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs has published for public comment a direct final rule and a companion proposed rule adopting updated standards for administering and interpreting digital radiographs for the Federal Black Lung Program.
