Altizer joins New River Gorge Development Authority board

Ken Altizer of Mount Nebo has been appointed to the board of the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority.

“We want to welcome Ken Altizer to our New River Gorge Regional Development Authority Board,” said board President Matt Wender. “Our board actively participates in our region’s development, and Ken’s energy and work ethic will be a good match. He will be a great addition to our board.”

Altizer, a member of the Nicholas County Commission, previously work-ed as a controller for Bright of America and currently works a variety of home-based business ventures including sales, marketing, construction and rentals.

Altizer attended West Virginia Technical College, received a B.A. in accounting and worked as a CPA after college.

Authority Executive Director Chad Wykle also welcomed Altizer to the Board of Directors. “Commissioner Altizer brings a unique skill set to our organization. He truly understands the importance of community development to sustainable economic development and that vibrant communities are one of the most essential components of future economic growth in this region.”

Altizer currently serves as vice president of the Summersville Area Chamber of Commerce, on the Nicholas County Extension Service Committee, on the boards of the Central Appalachian Empowerment Zone of West Virginia and Region 1 WorkForce West Virgin-ia.
