Old Colony Realtors get new digs in Beckley

The managing member at Beckley’s Old Colony Realtors say they’re moving on to bigger and better places. After a move to new quarters this weekend, Rob Thomas said the firm will be back to business as usual Monday morning.

“We’ve outgrown where we were on Sunset Drive,” Thomas said. “This layout that we have now on 93 Virginia St. is just absolutely perfect for a real-estate office with the way the offices are laid out.

“It’s got a beautiful foyer. It’s great when clients come in because it makes a really nice first impression. It’s mainly for growth purposes. We were bringing in new agents and didn’t have anywhere to put them.

Thomas says the company hopes to bring on some new staff to go with the new location.

“We do not have a full staff and we’re always looking for new sales associates, even people who are with other companies and want to make the move over,” he said. “You have to go through a pretty exhaustive licensing procedure. It’s not a situation in which you can just come in off of the street and start working. We’re constantly interviewing and hiring new staff.

Thomas says he hopes people will stop by and give the new office a look.

“It’s just going to enable us to better serve our clients and it’s going to give our sales associates a better base to work from,” he said. “It’s right on the edge of downtown. Many of our closings are downtown so we could walk to our closings. It’s just going to enable us to better serve our clients as well as our sales associates. It’s just a huge win all around.
