REI opens service center in the Morgantown area

— REI Consultants Inc. (aka REIC Labs), a full-service environmental laboratory, has opened a service center in the Morgantown area, according to laboratory director Dr. Clarence Haile.

The Morgantown location joins a network of service centers that “extends the geographic area we can serve,” explained Haile. In addition to its main laboratory in Beaver, REIC also operates service centers in Roanoke and Staunton, Va., and Ashland, Ky.

“This network of service centers, with our main lab as the hub, significantly extends our service footprint and thereby our marketing potential. The service centers allow REIC to provide closer support and more frequent courier service to our current client base, as well as new clients in those areas,” Haile said.

John McGee, a 14-year REIC employee, has been named to run the Morgantown operation. For the past six years, McGee has been in charge of REIC’s five-state courier service as well as sample custody operations at REIC’s main lab facility.

REIC’s network currently serves clients in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Establishing the Morgantown Service Center significantly expands REIC’s capabilities to serve the northwest quadrant of West Virginia, including the northern panhandle, as well as into southwestern Pennsylvania.

Initially, the Morgantown Service Center will serve as a local drop-off point for test samples and a close-support base for REIC’s multi-state courier service, according to Haile. Within the next few months, the center will offer locally based sampling services and lab services for the most time-critical tests, as well as serving as a base for marketing and sales efforts.

REIC’s main lab facilities and corporate headquarters are in Beaver.
