It is a new year, full of new possibilities and potential. Make some new goals, develop a new idea and a new business or business project by competing in the Feb. 18 Entrepreneur Café.
Entries are being taken online at www. gvecafe.com under the Participation tab.
A five-minute presentation is required to help sell your idea to an audience of crowd-funders. Previously, winners have received an average of $1,200 to use for new equipment, marketing and other business needs.
This is the fourth Café competition sponsored by New River Community and Technical College, the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce and Greenbrier Valley Economic Development.
Plan to attend the Jan. 9 workshop at New River Community and Technical College auditorium to learn how to best detail your proposal. If you are concerned about patents and copyrights, this topic will be covered as well.
Jill Holliday, New River entrepreneur instructional specialist, will present the “Nuts and Bolts of Business Planning” and Justin Gaull, of the West Virginia Small Business Development Center, will discuss patents and copyrights.
The evening will begin with a complimentary light supper from Shoney’s at 5:30 p.m. The workshop will begin at 6 p.m. Registration for the workshop is also available at www.gvecafe.com.
