Gaming center to host career fair

Are you looking for a new career? Have you finally decided to leave that high-stress job for something fun and exciting? Have you been downsized or laid off due to an economic downturn? Are you retired or looking for new opportunities?

Mardi Gras Racetrack & Gaming of West Virginia, formerly known as Tri-State Racetrack & Gaming Center, is expanding. The track is teaming up with West Virginia State Community & Technical College to recruit dealers for table games, including poker, craps, roulette and black jack.

Mardi Gras will be hosting a career fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Beckley-Ra-leigh County Convention Center. Applicants must pass on-site testing during the fair to be eligible to sign up for classes.

Dealer training will take place at West Virginia State Community & Technical College starting the first week in June. Poker, roulette and black jack fees are $490 for a seven-week course, while craps is $770 for 11 weeks.
