Concord notifies WVIAC it is leaving conference

— According to West Virginia MetroNews, nine schools have notified the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference that they are leaving to form their own 12-team all sports conference with three yet to be named schools from outside West Virginia.

Presidents from Concord, Fairmont State, Glenville State, West Virginia State, West Liberty, Shepherd, Charleston, West Virginia Wesleyan and Seton Hill, have reportedly notified WVIAC Commissioner Barry Blizzard of their decision.

That will leave Bluefield State, Alderson Broaddus, Davis & Elkins, Ohio Valley, Wheeling Jesuit and University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, as the only remaining six members of the WVIAC.
