BARBOURSVILLE —
The administrator of the Western Regional Jail has been fired.
Regional jail authority executive director Joe Delong tells media outlets that Mike Clark was relieved of his duties Monday. He declined to comment further, saying it’s a personnel matter.
Delong says Ron Casto will serve as acting administrator of the jail in Barboursville until a permanent replacement is appointed.
Casto is the training director for the Division of Corrections.
In late 2012, 11 correctional officers at the jail were disciplined following two separate use-of-force episodes.
Clark says he was surprised by his firing. He had served as the jail’s administrator since November 2009.
