Lockdown lifted at three Mercer County schools following alleged gun threat

PRINCETON — A lockdown at three Mercer County schools is over, and students are returning to the classroom.

Mary Wellman, a spokesperson for Mercer County School Superintendent Dr. Deborah Akers, said the lockdown has been lifted.

Princeton Middle School, Princeton Senior High School and Montcalm High School were all placed on lockdown after a threat was received. The threat involved a Facebook posting where someone claimed they were bringing a gun to school, according to the Board of Education.

Authorities said they would release more information as it becomes available.
