Mountain State University announced four signings with the Cougars’ softball team.
Amber Holestin leads the way.
The incoming freshman from Covington, Va., will join the Cougars’ pitching staff.
“Amber brings a lot of strength,” coach Tim Berry said, “She is a student of (former MSU pitching coach) Gerald Johnson. She’s worked with him for a couple of years now.
“(Holestin) has really stepped up her game and throws real well. I feel like she will make an impact that first year.”
Transfers Alex Albright, Jennifer Baker and Nicole Agambar, complete the new additions. All three will attempt to play both softball and volleyball at MSU.
Albright is a transfer from Concord University that will step into the lineup this spring as a true freshman. The 6-foot-1 outfielder hails from Shady Spring.
Baker is a utility player from Anchorage, Alaska. The 5-7 junior transferred from Coastal Georgia Community College.
Agambar is a 5-8 pitcher/outfielder from Huntingtown, Md. The junior comes to MSU from the College of Southern Maryland.
