Shut Down: Phil Bostian, 81, must find another restroom facility, because the one at Canyon Rim Visitors Center at the New River Gorge National River is closed. “I guess I will just have to find a tree,” said Bostian, who was with a group of senior citzens who had driven from Winston-Salem, N.C., Tuesday afternoon, to take in the autumn colors. This scene could be repeated Saturday unless the government shutdown ends before then. At this time the parking lot to Canyon Rim and access to New River Gorge National Park overlooks are roped off.
