Volunteers filed into Black Knight Country Club early Tuesday for breakfast, fellowship and an opportunity to help the Beckley-Raleigh County YMCA and the Spirit of Beckley annual award. Printed cards in alphabetical order were displayed on a huge table, depicting past contributors to the YMCA. Each participant chose five such cards, setting in motion the annual fundraiser, and the YMCA’s chief executive officer, Jim Gilchrist, hailed the event as a major success.
