Marvin Meadows, of Cool Ridge, uses his two horses to drive a few odds and ends that he put together to make the cane press. Meadows says he used truck parts, the drive shaft of a deepwell drill, a crane arm, and a few other pieces to make his machine. “There’s no such thing as junk,” he says. “There’s just some stuff that’s recyclable.”
