Marshall quarterback Rakeem Cato throws in the first half of the Military Bowl against Maryland Dec. 27 in Annapolis, Md. Cato has been selected as the winner of the Hardman Award, given annually to the state’s top amateur athlete by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association. Cato and Marshall coach Doc Holliday will be the guest speakers at today’s Big Atlantic Classic Tip-Off Banquet at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center. Lunch will begin at 12:30 p.m., and Cato and Holliday will begin speaking at 1:30 p.m.
