Champ the rescued dog is shown with the Pierces. “When we first got Champ, he wasn’t used to getting up on things. He’d probably been tied up his whole life. He would jump up on the couch and just roll off,” remembers Sherri Pierce. She and husband Jim Pierce, Raleigh County residents and cross country transporters, adopted Champ from the Humane Society of Raleigh County just after Thanksgiving.
