The first Linda Daniel School Data Excellence Award luncheon was held in honor of the late Linda Daniel at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center last Friday. Several Raleigh County schools were named “Most Improved” and “Best Overall” schools, based on their WESTEST scores. Members of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce and representatives of area schools join Alyssa Daniel, front row, fourth from the left, daughter of Linda Daniel for a group picture. The Chamber held the luncheon at the Raleigh County convention center. Schools that were represented included: Coal City Elementary, Mabscott Elementary, Maxwell Hill Elementary, Stratton Elementary, Hollywood Elementary, Beckley Elementary, Crab Orchard Elementary Park Middle School, Independence Middle School, Trap Hill Middle School, Shady Spring Middle School, Liberty High School and Woodrow Wilson High School.
