The Children’s Health Insurance Program is still around, but since funding for CHIP outreach programs has dwindled, Fred Cooper, better known as “the CHIP guy,” has been limited in his work of getting the word out to families. Income guidelines have raised, making more working families for CHIP coverage for their children. Cooper would like to see corporations get behind the effort to fund an ongoing outreach program.
