John Crump, daughters Makayla and Alexis and wife Ashley take a few rare moments together to play a game at their home near Princewick. Although the job requires long hours and little time with the family, coal mining has provided them a comfortable lifestyle and, as John Crump said, it allows them to “provide for our kids the way we want them to live.”
