Tams resident Arley Johnson Jr., 84, plays the dobro during an informal but large bluegrass jam session last Thursday. For about five years, the Sophia City Fire Department bingo hall has been the site of a weekly informal jam session, attended by as many as 50 players of different genders, generations and states.
