The American Cancer Society is a national program aimed at fighting cancer. There are several services and support programs available in communities across the country. At the Raleigh Regional Cancer Center in Beckley, a 24-hour information hotline is accessible at 1-800-ACS-2345. Trained cancer information specialists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer questions about cancer, link callers with resources in their communities and give information and support through the warmth of a live phone call, according to Kellie Massey, a cancer survivor and volunteer with the local support group.
