DNR system

Art Shomo is shown looking at the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources’ new interactive hunting and fishing maps Nov. 5 in Charleston. The map allows sportsmen to retrieve reams of information about the state’s hunting and fishing sites at the click of a mouse. By zooming in on particular streams or wildlife management areas, hunters and anglers can gauge “the lay of the land” and scope out the associated amenities. The combined hunting-and-fishing map takes the place of the DNR’s previous attempt at interactive technology, an interactive trout-stocking map that had been in place since 2008.
