Firefighters put out hot spots at a fire on Main Street in downtown Marllinton Sunday afternoon. The Pocahontas County’s 911 Center said at least five structures were destroyed or damaged in the fire, mostly businesses. The call was dispatched around 2:30 a.m. and 12 fire departments responded. Firefighters were still on the scene late Sunday evening cooling hidden pockets of smoldering debris.
