COLUMBIA, Ky. No. 4 Mountain State University pulled off a rarity Tuesday night.
Behind four double-digit scorers, the Cougars beat No. 10 Lindsey Wilson 76-72.
MSU (21-4) became just the third non-conference team to beat the Raiders on their home court in the last five years.
It was a great win for us, coach Bob Bolen said. To come in here and get a win was tremendous.
Ralph Legg led the Cougars with 20 points. He was followed by Paul Wright with 17, Adron Marshall with 12 and Jarvis Jackson with 10. Yusef Baker had eight points and 15 rebounds.
Brandon Adams led the Raiders (16-8) with 25 points. Lloyd Lewis added 15 points and Brian Campbell 10.
MSU, which trailed 35-33 at halftime, was 9-for-20 (45 percent) on three-pointers.
The Cougars are now 7-1 this season against teams from the Mid-South Conference.
MSU returns to the road Saturday to take on Allen (S.C.) University.
