Every year the annual BNI Memorial Classic is almost as much a family reunion as it is a golf tournament.
This year an annual “reunion” will be July 14-16.
The 32nd annual midsummer classic will be at the usual venues.
The golfers will start at either Pipestem or Grandview and the fields will flip for the second day of action.
The field will then be flighted for championship July 16 on Glade Springs’ pristine Cobb Course.
“It’s the same format as we have had in the past,” BNI Classic director Dave Hunter said. “We always look forward to this tournament because families plan their vacations around the date of the tournament and it’s really more of a family outing.”
Information has not been totally completed but Hunter said the 168 golfers who participated in the tournament will be receiving applications in the mail in the next couple weeks.
The tournament will once again be limited to a field of 168.
Christian Brand won his third straight BNI championship last summer, completing a run that also saw him win his first West Virginia State Amateur title and receive an exception into the PGA Tour Greenbrier Classic.
